Bhutan, a Buddhist kingdom on the Himalayas’ eastern edge, is known for its monasteries, fortresses (or dzongs) and dramatic landscapes that range from subtropical plains to steep mountains and valleys.

Day 1

NJP RLY STATION / IXB AIRPORT - PHUENTSHOLING

Upon arrival at NJP Railway Station / IXB Airport pick up & transfer to Phuentsholing. On arrival check in at the hotel. Overnight stay will be at Phuentsholing.

Day 2

PHUENTSHOLING - THIMPHU

After breakfast check out of the hotel & proceed further to complete the immigration formalities and transfer to Thimphu (7,710 ft.) the capital city of Bhutan. On arrival check in at the hotel. Overnight stay will be at Thimphu.

Day 3

THIMPHU FULLDAY SIGHTSEEING

After breakfast visit King's Memorial Chorten (Monument), Changangkha Monastery, National Zoo (Contains National Animal Takin), National Library, BBS Tower, Folk Heritage Museum, Textile Museum, School of Arts and Crafts, National Institute of Traditional Medicine, Traditional Paper Factory (made from Daphne plant). Overnight stay will be at Thimphu.

Day 4

THIMPU - PARO VIA PUNAKHA

After Breakfast Checkout from Hotel and proceed to Paro Via Dochula Pass. Visit ChimmiLakhyang and Punakha Dzong. On arrival at Paro Check in at Hotel. Overnight stay at Paro.

Day 5

PARO TO TIGERNEST PARO

Have early breakfast and drive up to the base of Taktsang Monastery (Tiger`s Nest)(Entry fee Rs. 500 per head). The most famous and sacred site among all the places in Bhutan. Guru Padmasambhava is said to have come riding on a flying tigress to this place and meditated in a cave for 3 months, it wasn`t until ZhabdrungNgawang Namgyal came to this place and meditated that it gained the popularity that it has now. The present structure is said to be built in the 15th century but was destroyed by fire in 1998 and has been restored.The walk is about 2 hours till the top through wide pathways which was built during the restoration works. One hour into the climb there is a tea point from where you get a very good view of the monastery, they also serve lunch here. From there it`s about another 45 minutes climb to the 2nd view point and the highest point in the hike. All in all it takes around 5-6 hours for an average person to hike up and then back down to the base.Overnight stay.

Day 6

PARO SIGHTSEEING - PHUENTSHOLING

After breakfast check out of the hotel and visit local sightseeing covering Ta Dzong, Drugyel Dzong and Kitchu Monastery. After that transfer too Pheuntsholing. Check in to the hotel. Overnight stay at Pheuntsholing.

Day 7

PHUENTSHOLING - NJP RLY STATION / IXB AIRPORT

After breakfast check out from the hotel and take the departure transfer to NJP Railway Station / IXB Airport for your onward journey.
