On arriving in Italy you are greeted with Benvenuto or ‘Welcome’ in Italian by your representative . Italy is an extraordinary feast of heart-thumping, soul-stirring art, food and landscapes, rivalled by few and coveted by millions. Epicentre of the Roman Empire and birthplace of the Renaissance, it’s here that you’ll stand in the presence of monuments such as Michelangelo’s David and the Sistine Chapel. In fact, Italy has more UNESCO World Heritage cultural sites than any other country on earth. It’s a cultural conundrum as thrilling as it is overwhelming. You’re bound to be excited about what lies ahead. We depart the airport for a brief orientation tour of one of the worlds most renowned fashion capitals, Milan. Later we head to the most romantic city in Italy, Venice – Famous for its architecture and known as the Queen of the Adriatic – fondly called La Serenissima. Venice is built on 180 Islands that are connected by over 400 bridges, with hundreds of canals criss-crossing the town. We take a boat ride to reach Venice Island enjoying the famous scenic views as we head to St Mark’s Square to see the Bridge of Sighs, the Ducale Palace, St. Marks Basilica and the Clock Tower, all part of this beautiful and romantic city. We complete the day with a dinner before retiring for the night at your hotel

After breakfast, we head off to Tuscan region of Italy to see the famous Leaning Tower of Pisa (exterior only), known to be the bell tower of the Duomo Cathedral, one of Italy’s signature sights. The Leaning Tower of Pisa truly lives up to its name, leaning a startling 3.9 degrees off the vertical. The 56m-high tower, officially the Duomo’s campanile (bell tower), took almost 200 years to build. Later, we head to Florence, a stunning medieval city divided into two parts by the River Arno. Florence is considered one of the most beautiful cities in the world with its overflow of palaces, churches and museums filled with masterful paintings and sculptures. We begin our walking tour of Florence taking in sights such as Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore, Campanile and Baptistery along with Loggia Dei Lanzi and the Fountain of Neptune and Ponte Vecchio, the oldest and the most famous bridge in
Florence. After another full day, enjoy a comfortable overnight stay at the hotel.

Today we head south to the Campania region of Italy, home of Naples, Pompeii, Mt Vesuvius and the beautiful Amalfi cost. We visit Pompeii the ancient archaeological site that was once a thriving city until it was buried by ash from the Mt Vesuvius eruption. The preserved site features excavated ruins of streets and houses that visitors can freely explore.It remains one of the most significant proofs of Roman civilization. Located on the shadow of the Mt Vesuvius you look back to view this mighty volcanic
mountain and imagine the horror of the people that became victims of its devastating power. Transfer to our hotel for an overnight stay.

Today after breakfast, we proceed to the beautiful island of Capri. It’s beguiling combination of fabled beauty and hedonism has charmed Roman emperors, Russian revolutionaries and Hollywood stars for decades. Explore beyond the cool cafes and designer boutiques and you’ll find that Capri retains an unspoilt charm, with grand villas, overgrown vegetable plots, sun bleached, peeling stucco and banks of brilliantly coloured bougainvillea. All of this overlooks the deep blue water that laps into secluded coves and mysterious grottoes. In the afternoon we travel north to the capital of Italy, Rome where we enjoy dinner before continuing to our hotel.

As one of the founding cities of Western Civilization and the cultural centre of Europe, the Eternal City of Rome has been a site of major historic events for over two and a half thousand years. Our city tour includes sights such as the Colosseum (entrance included), Arc of Constantine, Roman Forum and Caesar’s Forum. Then onto Vatican City, the smallest republic in the world, where we visit St. Peter’s basilica, the largest church in the world and the centre of Christianity. Later we walk among the massive Tuscan colonnades of the St. Peter’s Square before enjoying a comfortable overnight stay at the hotel.

After a delicious breakfast, you will be taken back in history with a visit to the Time Elevator. Here we learn about the history, art & science of Rome. The victories and defeats, development and decline of the Roman Empire, through to the Middle Ages, the Renaissance with the events of the Popes through to the present day. It’s an exciting journey that involves all the senses. Come the afternoon, we bid farewell to Europe as we transfer to the airport in time to board the flight home. With what we hope was a truly enriching Italian experience coming to an end, it’s time to take home happy memories to treasure for a lifetime.
